WHY SHOULD I PERFORM A SELFCHECK ALLERGY TEST?
Allergies are a major trigger of hayfever, eczema, asthma and food sensitivity.
High levels of IgE are produced in the blood of those with allergy sensitivities.
If you have a high IgE level and/or symptoms that indicate an allergy, you doctor can arrange for further tests to determine specific allergens.
Please note: this test does not provide results on specific substances you are allergic to.
The SELFCheck Allergy Test is a general test which shows if the levels of IgE antibodies in your blood are higher than normal. Nevertheless, not everyone with allergies have high levels of IgE.
The home test kit uses a small finger prick blood sample and provides results within 10 minutes. Results are over 97% accurate.
WHAT DOES THE TEST KIT CONTAIN?
The test kit contains;
- 1 test device, 1 plastic pipette and 1 desiccant pouch
- 1 small bottle containing 1ml of diluent
- 2 sterile single use lancets to obtain a blood sample
- 1 instruction leaflet
HOW DO I USE THIS TEST KIT?

WHAT SHOULD I DO IF MY RESULT IS POSITIVE?
If the result is positive, it means the IgE level in your blood is higher than normal. Speak to your doctor for further tests to identify the specific allergen triggers.
WHAT SHOULD I DO IF MY RESULT IS NEGATIVE?
If the result is negative, it means the IgE level in your blood is normal. However, if you are still experiencing allergic symptoms, speak to your GP as some people with normal IgE levels can still be very sensitive to allergens.
