WHAT IS ROBITUSSIN MUCUS COUGH AND CONGESTION RELIEF SOLUTION?
Robitussin Mucus Cough and Congestion Relief sugar free solution contains 2 active ingredients – guaifenesin and pseudoephedrine hydrochloride.
Guaifenesin works as an expectorant and loosens mucus and phlegm thus making a cough more productive and less frequent.
Pseudoephedrine hydrochloride works as a nasal decongestant and provides symptomatic relief from nasal and sinus congestion.
Please note: as this medication can contains pseudoephedrine, you will only be allowed to purchase one pack through our service within a certain period of time.
HOW TO TAKE ROBITUSSIN MUCUS COUGH AND CONGESTION RELIEF SOLUTION?
Adults, elderly and children over 12 years – Take 10mls up to 4 times per day as required.
Do not exceed the stated dose. No more than 4 doses should be taken in any 24 hours. Do not give to children under 12 years of age.
If symptoms persist for more than 7 days or worsen, then stop using this medicine and speak to your doctor.
WHAT ARE SOME OF THE CAUTIONS ASSOCIATED WITH ROBITUSSIN MUCUS COUGH AND CONGESTION RELIEF SOLUTION?
Do not take this medicine if:
- You are allergic to any of the ingredients
- You are suffering from heart disease, an overactive thyroid gland, glaucoma, diabetes, enlarged prostrate gland
- You are taking a monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI) or have taken in the last 14 days
- You are pregnant or breastfeeding
Robitussin Mucus Cough and Congestion Relief Solution may interact negatively with some medicines. Therefore, if you are taking other medications regularly, you should always consult your GP, pharmacist or the patient information leaflet to ensure this medicine is suitable for you to use.
This medicine contains amaranth (E123) which may cause allergic reactions. It also contains sorbitol and maltitol which may not be suitable for those intolerant to some sugars.
WHAT ARE SOME OF THE SIDE-EFFECTS OF ROBITUSSIN MUCUS COUGH AND CONGESTION RELIEF SOLUTION?
Like all medications, Robitussin Mucus Cough and Congestion Relief Solution can cause side-effects, although not all patients will experience these.
Stop taking this medicine immediately and consult your doctor if you experience any of the following:
- Allergic reactions
- Increased heart beat or palpitations
- Sudden onset of fever or reddening of the skin
Other side-effects that you may experience include:
- Feeling sick or vomiting
- Dizziness or headaches
- Increased blood pressure
