WHAT ARE GAVISCON DOUBLE ACTION MINT FLAVOUR CHEWABLE TABLETS?
Gaviscon Double Action Chewable tablets provide dual relief from symptoms of heartburn and indigestion in 2 ways. They create a protective barrier over the stomach
to stop acid from refluxing and also act to neutralise stomach acid.
Gaviscon Double Action Chewable tablets contain 250mg sodium alginate, 106.5mg sodium bicarbonate and 187.5mg calcium carbonate per tablet.
The tablets are used to treat symptoms of gastro-oesophageal reflux such as acid regurgitation, heartburn and indigestion which may occur following meals or during pregnancy and to treat symptoms of excess acid production.
HOW TO TAKE GAVISCON DOUBLE ACTION CHEWABLE TABLETS?
These tablets should be chewed before swallowing.
Adults and children over 12 years – Take 2 to 4 tablets after meals and at bedtime when symptoms occur, up to 4 times per day.
Children under 12 years – only to be given under medical advise.
If symptoms persist after 7 days or get worse, please consult your doctor.
WHAT ARE SOME OF THE CAUTIONS OF TAKING GAVISCON DOUBLE ACTION CHEWABLE TABLETS?
Do not take Gaviscon Double Action Chewable tablets if:
• you are allergic to any of the ingredients
• you have been advised to follow a strict sodium or calcium restricted diet
• you have phenylketonuria
This medicine can interact with other medicines and so it is advised not to take this treatment within 2 hours of taking certain other medicines. Therefore, if you are taking other medications regularly, you should always consult your GP, pharmacist or the patient information leaflet to ensure this medication is suitable for you to use.
WHAT ARE SOME OF THE SIDE-EFFECTS OF GAVISCON DOUBLE ACTION CHEWABLE TABLETS?
Like all medications, Gaviscon Double Action Chewable Tablets can cause side-effects, although not all patients will experience these.
If you experience any of the following side-effects, stop using the medicine and talk to your doctor immediately:
• allergic reactions – symptoms may include: skin rash, itching, difficulty breathing, dizziness, swelling of the face, tongue or throat
• constipation
• muscle cramps
• indigestion that comes back when you stop taking this treatment
• high levels of calcium in the blood

HOW DO I STORE GAVISCON DOUBLE ACTION CHEWABLE TABLETS?
Store under 30°C in original packaging to protect from moisture.
Keep out of reach and sight of children.
