    What is Cialis?

Cialis contains the active ingredient Tadalafil, which commonly used for the treatment of Erectile Dysfunction. Cialis is produced by Lily Pharmaceuticals and the use as needed formulation is available in two different strengths – 10mg and 20mg.

    How does Cialis work?

Cialis is a potent phosphodiesterase (PDE5) enzyme inhibitor that works by dilating blood vessels in the penis, increasing blood flow to this region helping to get and maintain an erection in response to arousal.

    How do I take Cialis?

Cialis is available to use on a when required basis, similar to sildenafil tablets. When Cialis is used on a when required basis the recommended starting dose in adults is 10mg that can be increased to 20mg if the response is inadequate. These strengths of Cialis should not be used on a continuous daily basis. It should be taken approximately 30 minutes before any proposed sexual activity and has a duration of action lasting for up to 36 hours. The tablets should be swallowed with water.

What are the cautions associated with taking Cialis?

Although Cialis tablets are commonly prescribed in the UK to treat symptoms of Erectile Dysfunction, it is still important to check if the medication is suitable for you. Cialis should not be used by people suffering with certain conditions or those taking certain medications. You should always read the patient information leaflet (PIL) for Cialis 10mg or Cialis 20mg before taking this medication to ensure it is safe for you to use.

What are the side effects of Cialis?

Cialis like all medications can be associated with certain side effects although not all patients would experience these.

Common Cialis side-effects to look out for, include:

    • Facial Flushing / Hot Flushes
    • Indigestion
    • Muscle Aches, back & limb pain
    • Stuffy Nose
    • Headache (including migraine)
    • Dizziness, drowsiness & visual disturbances – this may affect skilled tasks such as driving, it is recommended to see how you react to this medication before driving or operating any machinery.

Patients should not drink excess amounts of alcohol when taking Cialis as it may impair your ability to get an erection and may increase the risk of certain side effects. To see all the side-effects associated with the use of Cialis please refer to the patient information leaflet (PIL) for Cialis 10mg or Cialis 20mg or contact PostMyMeds.

Can I use Cialis and Premature Ejaculation Treatment at the same time?

Cialis should be used with caution when taking premature ejaculation medication such as Priligy at the same time. This is as combination of these two medications can cause a drop in your blood pressure causing you to feel faint when standing up. To avoid suffering from a drop in blood pressure, we recommend that you leave a gap of at least 24-48 hours between taking ED medications such as Viagra (Sildenafil), Cialis (Tadalafil), Levitra (Vardenafil) and Spedra (Avanafil) and Priligy.

Where can I find more information on Erectile Dysfunction and Cialis?

Please refer to the patient information leaflet (PIL) for Cialis 10mg or Cialis 20mg for further information on Cialis. You can find more information on Erectile Dysfunction by clicking here.
