WHAT IS THE SELFCHECK MENOPAUSE TEST?
The SELFCheck Menopause Test measures hormonal imbalance which is the most important indication of menopause. It measures your follicle stimulating hormone (FSH) level.
A constant high level of FSH (around 25mU/ml) may indicate that ovaries are not working and egg production may have stopped. High FSH levels and menopausal symptoms can then be used to check if you are still fertile or in menopause.
The average age of menopause in the UK is 51 years. However, some women can can reach menopause as early as 39, or as late as 69 years of age. This self check test allows women to reliably check if they have gone through the menopausal transition or not.
WHO IS THIS TEST FOR?
This test is for women who think they may have reached the stage of menopause or post menopause.
HOW AND WHEN DO I PERFORM THE TEST?
Please read instructions enclosed within the product on how to perform the test and get results.
The home testing kit is easy to use, requiring a small sample of fresh urine (preferably collected first thing in the morning) to perform the test and a visual result is available within 10 minutes.
For best results, the test should be carried out first thing in the morning.
This test kit contains 2 separate tests which should be performed in successive weeks to confirm a positive result
WHAT SHOULD I DO IF MY RESULT IS POSITIVE?
If both tests show positive results then speak to your doctor who can confirm the stage of menopause and provide advise on how to manage individual symptoms.
