Painful periods can be better managed through certain lifestyle amendments, including:

  • Taking Regular exercise
  • Stopping smoking
  • Local heat application e.g. using a heat pad or hot water bottle
  • Massaging the lower back and abdomen gently
  • Relaxation techniques such as yoga or pilates
  • Avoid foods that contain caffeine and salt
